Sunset Canyon Baptist Church (SCBC) will broke ground on their new Family Life Center on Sunday, July 30, 2017. The “Celebration of Groundbreaking” took place at 10:45am on the building site behind their main Church building.

At the ceremony, SCBC Senior Pastor Dr. Lonny Poe spoke of how the moment was the “culmination of 8 years of prayer, planning, sacrifice and struggle.”

“Today we celebrate the many, many hours of hard work, dedication and sacrifice of so many. The Family Life Center Building represents a collective effort to equip the family of faith with another tool to be used to pursue others, pursue maturity, to pursue intimacy with God, to pursue community, and to pursue needs. I am incredibly grateful to proclaim and profess a promise of God over this ground,” Poe said.

Before leading the ceremony audience in prayer, he quoted II Corinthians 9:18- “And God is able to make all grace abound to you, so that in all things, at all times, having all that you need, you will abound in every good work.”

SCBC’s new Family Life Center will be a 21,000-square foot facility that includes education space, multi-purpose rooms, and a gymnasium. SCBC’s weekday education program, including the Preschool and a new Mother’s Day Out program, will use the Family Life Center. The Church’s Sunday morning and Wednesday evening ministries for children will primarily be located in the Family Life Center, as well as other Church ministries and events.

Sunset Canyon Baptist Church is located at 4000 East Highway 290 in Dripping Springs, Texas. Please visit sunsetcanyonchurch.org for more information.
