Best of Dripping Springs

Staff Reports

We want to know, who is the best in Dripping Springs? With more than 100 categories to vote in, the Dripping Springs Century-News is kicking off the inaugural “Best in Dripping” contest.

The people of Dripping Springs will decide who is the best in town. It’s time to settle, at least for 2016, the best breakfast taco in Dripping. Do you stand behind the Flores taco stand or DS Grocery? Maybe you know of a better place in town.

What about the best burger? Pizza? With all the spirits Dripping has to offer, how could we not have a best winery, distillery or brewery category?  The same goes for wedding venues.

In Dripping, we also pride ourselves on community service. We all know at least one person who deserves to be voted for. The hard part will be choosing only one.  The same could be said for the best civic/social club, as there are many great options to choose from.

For those familiar with the Best in Hays contest, this will be rather similar. The Best of Hays has run in the Wimberley View, Dripping Springs Century-News and San Marcos Daily Record the last few years, but the population of San Marcos was simply too much for the smaller towns to overcome. That is one of the reasons the Best in Dripping was created. It’s our town. We want to know who is best.

In order to vote, go to page 5 and find the ballot. Fill in as many categories as possible and bring the ballot by the Dripping Springs Chamber of Commerce or drop it in the mail to the Dripping Springs Century News, P.O. Box 732, Dripping Springs, TX, 78620.

The rules are pretty simple. Only one vote can be submitted per person, per day. That means individuals can vote up to 23 times as long as they bring in 23 unique ballots, individually, each business day of the contest. The ballot will run in each issue of the Dripping Springs Century-News between now and May 12.

Only ballots published in and cut from the Dripping Springs Century-News will be counted. Photocopies will not be accepted. A minimum of 10 categories must be voted in for the ballot to count. No more than four duplicate ballot forms will be accepted.

Winners of this straw ballot will receive a certificate suitable for framing and will be announced in a special edition tabloid produced by the Dripping Springs Century News in June.

Let’s have some fun with this and find out who exactly is the best in Dripping Springs.
