Last month, eight students represented Dripping Springs ISD and Dripping Springs High School Future Farmers of America at the state convention in Fort Worth.

The 94th annual Texas FFA State Convention took place at the Fort Worth Convention center on July 11 through 15. The event featured a variety of competitions, as well as workshops, interviews, awards and more.

From DSHS, students Virginia 'Ginny' Falls and Ryan Kaiser both received the Lone Star Degree, the highest degree of membership earned at the high-school level. This is awarded to students who, among other things, have worked at least 300 hours in a supervised agricultural experience program and completed at least 25 hours of community service.

Isabel Fernandez was a soloist for the FFA Chorus, performing at every general session.

Participating students were accompanied by DSHS teachers Melissa Gold and David Saenz.
