Hays County to host open house on Eastside Campus project

Hays County to host open house on Eastside Campus project

Hays County will host an open house later this month to provide information and gather community feedback on the proposed Eastside Campus project.

The event is scheduled for 5:30 p.m. Thursday, June 25, at Gemstone Palace, 1101 Bunton Creek Road in Kyle. The open house will feature a come-and-go format and allow residents to meet with county staff and learn more about services planned for the Eastside Campus.

Earlier this year, the Hays County Commissioners Court authorized the issuance of Certificates of Obligation not to exceed $100 million for county offices, administrative buildings and facilities, including the Eastside Campus project.

“This project represents an opportunity to thoughtfully plan for the needs of our growing community,” Precinct 1 Commissioner Debbie Ingalsbe said. “By participating in these open houses, residents can help shape a campus that reflects our shared priorities and supports families across eastern Hays County for years to come.”

Ingalsbe said investing in county infrastructure is necessary to keep pace with continued population growth and ensure residents have access to safe, modern facilities.

Precinct 2 Commissioner Dr. Michelle Cohen said community input will play an important role in the planning process.

“Community participation is essential as we plan for the future of the Eastside,” Cohen said. “This format is designed to give residents direct access to the experts shaping this project and to ensure that the voices of our community remain at the center of the process.”

Cohen said the project is intended to help the county meet growing demands for services while providing functional spaces for both staff and residents.

County officials are encouraging residents to attend the open house, ask questions and provide feedback as planning for the Eastside Campus continues. Additional information is available through the Hays County Communications Office.
