One person was killed and another injured in a head-on collision on U.S. Highway 290 near Fitzhugh Road on June 10, according to the Texas Department of Public Safety.
DPS Troopers responded to the two-vehicle crash at approximately 6:01 p.m. in Travis County.
According to a preliminary investigation, a Toyota passenger car was traveling eastbound on U.S. 290 when, for unknown reasons, it crossed into the westbound lane and collided head-on with a Kia passenger car.
The driver of the Toyota, identified as 28-year-old Wilmer Antonio Pena Solis, was pronounced dead at the scene. DPS officials said next of kin have been notified.
The driver of the Kia was transported to an area hospital. Information regarding the driver's condition was not immediately available.
The crash remains under investigation. DPS has not released additional details.
