The Science Mill in Johnson City is hosting Math Universe, a 10-day Spring Break immersive, hands-on experience March 11-21.
“From spirals in nature to the mysteries of time and space, Math Universe transforms big ideas into unforgettable adventures for curious minds of all ages,” said a spokesperson. “Math isn’t something you memorize here — it’s something you experience.”
Math Universe explores:
-The Golden Ratio in art, architecture, and nature
-Fractals and spirals hidden in snowflakes, pinecones, and galaxies
-The power of Pascal’s Triangle and probability
-How gravity bends space-time
-What it means to travel at the speed of light
Using interactive stations, guests will:
-Construct spiral galaxies
-Race through time in a relativity challenge
-Create fractal snowflakes
-Build geometric patterns inspired by nature
-Test reflexes against the speed of light
A Special Activity, Pi Day, happens on Saturday, March 14, 2026. This town-wide math adventure is a full day of hands-on activities inspired by Pi, including patterns and the hidden math behind everyday life. It is made possible through the support of the Simons Foundation.
All 50+ regular exhibits will be open, covering light, robotics, fossils, life science, chemistry, physics, water, plants, energy, programming, and more.
Tickets, details, and daily activity schedule are available at www.sciencemill.org.
