Master gardeners prepare for a plant sale.

Temperatures are warming up, and for area gardeners, that means it’s time to think about spring planting. The Hays County Master Gardeners Association (HCMGA) is ready to help area residents dig in at its annual Spring Plant and Tree Sale.

Vegetables and herbs will be available, in addition to a wide variety of ornamental trees, ground covers, grasses, perennials, shrubs, and succulents. Many of the plants are propagated from the Master Gardeners’ own cuttings and seeds.

Gardeners can shop the in-person sale on March 22 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Budaful Farmers Market, 204 San Antonio St, Buda, TX, 78610. There is also an option to shop online in the week leading up to the plant sale, March 15-21, and then to pick up orders at the in-person event on March 22.

The online sale can be found at http://haysgardener.square.site.

Through HCMGA’s plant and tree sale, customers can find plants specifically propagated for the environment of Hays County, which may lead to greater growing success. People will also have an opportunity to “Ask a Gardener” for recommendations or advice..

Proceeds from the sale fund Master Gardener continuing education programs and community training classes for anyone interested in learning more about gardening and landscaping.
