City council approves conditional site permit for DSISD High School #2

At the Dripping Springs City Council meeting on Feb. 3, the council approved a request from the Dripping Springs Independent School District (DSISD) to delay payment of site development permit application fees for High School #2.

DSISD and the city are continuing to work on an interlocal agreement (ILA), and approving the conditional site permit will allow the district to move forward while that process continues.

“This permit would include stipulations concerning deferred payment of fees, wastewater, and Darden Hill Road contingencies,” DSISD Chief Operating Officer Scott Berry said. “This step allows us to avoid costly construction setbacks while we continue to collaboratively work on the final ILA.”

After discussion, council member Geoffery Tahuahua motioned to approve the request, and it passed unanimously upon vote.

Another major item of business at the meeting concerned the city’s wastewater services. The council approved the engineering firm of Burgess & Niple, Inc. to assist the city with designing, constructing, planning, acquiring, extending, upgrading, renovating, rehabilitating, replacing and improving wastewater projects funded through the Texas Water Development Board.
