In a very hard-fought and foul-marred basketball game, the Lady Cavaliers withstood the effort of the Lady Tigers to win 62-53. The game was slowed in time because of the time spent at the free throw line. There were 30 shooting fouls committed in the game, plus others not calling for free throws. The Lady Tigers finished with a 17-25 at the line.
The first quarter proved to be the death knell for the Lady Tigers as a cold start put them behind the 8-ball and they would spend the rest of the night playing catchup. It ended with LT ahead 20-9. The second quarter was typical of the Lady Tigers all year. They would continue to battle and never give up. As a result they would make a run at LT and by the half had narrowed the gap to 30-27.
The third was a duplication of the first, only worse when they scored six points. LT pushed their advantage back out to 50-33. Back came another Lady Tigers strong effort to put pressure on LT to the very end.
In their previous game, the Lady Tigers took on another top team in the form of Austin Bowie. It was a tough one with the Lady Tigers coming up on the short end of the stick. 57-43. No stats were available at press time.
Vs LT: Bailey Rogers 21, Lily Aleshire 17, Avery Taylor 6, Camille Brown 4, Avery Ames 3, Chloe Lightfoot 2.
