Dripping Springs must have had a friend in the selection committee for the 2026-28 district assignments or maybe it was Austin ISD. Of all the scenarios that could have taken place, Dripping Springs received the most favorable of all. Their road to district championships in all sports has certainly become smoother as Lake Travis and Westlake have been evicted. The UIL is known for their surprises and this ranks as one of their most pleasant. Here are the new district assignments that will interest us.
24-6A: Vandegrift, Cedar Park, Vista Ridge, Georgetown East View, Hutto, Leander, Rouse.
25-6A: Lake Travis, Westlake, Round Rock, RR McNeil, RR Stony Point, RR Westwood, RR Cedar Ridge.
26-6A: Austin High, Austin Akins, Austin Bowie, Hays High, Hays Johnson, Del Valle, Dripping Springs.
This means schedules will be similar to the past two years in that there will be byes during district play. The bi-district opponents will come from District 25-6A and Vandegrift will be in a different region.
