Despite the winter storm, the 80th Annual Hays County Youth Livestock Show proceeded as planned, wrapping up on Saturday morning with the annual auction. However, the auction was relocated to the pig barn, which was heated, and participants were instructed not to bring their animals to the auction due to the weather.
This year there were a total of 367 exhibitors from Buda 4-H, Dripping Springs 4-H, Kyle 4-H, Hays 4-H Shooting Sports, West San Marcos 4-H, Wimberley 4-H, Dripping Springs FFA, Hays FFA, Johnson FFA, Lehman FFA, San Marcos FFA & Wimberley FFA. There were 1608 entries in the categories of Ag Mechanics, Cattle, Goats, Home Skills, Horse Show, Lambs, Poultry, Rabbits and Swine.
