The boys take a victory at the Gillespie Duals, with a win over San Antonio Reagan in the finals.

The Dripping Springs wrestling program is in the final stages of its season. It has been a very active season with many and varied activities to prepare them for the real season - qualifying for the state championships. The district tourney is Jan. 29.

Coach Joe Kirksey assessed his season thus. He said the boys team had been playing well and improving all season. They are presently ranked ninth in the state. The girls have had to battle problems with illness and injury early in the season but have recently gotten healthy and performances have proven this. The girls placed second at the Lake Travis Classic and Lucy Clarno became the first Lady Tiger to win at Texas Outlaw. The boys won the Gillespie Duals and Jackson Shipley won first in the Gut Check tourney in Kent, Washington.

Going into the district meet, Dripping Springs has nine wrestlers state-ranked. Boys: 120: Jackson Shipley 2nd; 138: Charlie Lundin 13th; 144: Joseph Austin 8th; 157: Tucker Lundin 19th; 165: Caleb Collins 5th; 190: Noah Williams 13th. Girls: 115: Aracella Gonzalez Martinez 15th; 125: Lucy Clarno 1st; 170: Amy Ellis 13th.
