Juniper Tree, Garbo’s to close their doors at end of January

Two area businesses will be shutting down this month.

Juniper Tree Market on Mercer Street announced on Jan. 5 that it would be closing its doors. Their final sales took place over the past few weekends, and as of this week their Facebook said they are officially closed, ending a five-year run.

Garbo’s Restaurant on 290 will serve its final lobster rolls on Sunday, Jan. 25. Then, they will be holding a garage sale from Jan. 26-28, noon to 7 p.m., to sell a variety of furnishings. While they still have locations in Austin, this restaurant, which was opened a little over two years ago, struggled to stay afloat.
