The Warriors Remembrance & Research Foundation (WRRF) is continuing its work at the historic Phillips Cemetery on RR12. Their goal is to honor the more than 250 veterans buried at the cemetery by cleaning the sites and resetting gravestones that may have shifted.

There are two events scheduled for this month, on Jan. 17 and Jan. 31, from 12 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. They would welcome help from volunteers. Anyone wishing to volunteer can go to www.remember4veterans.com for more information and to register.

WRRF is a non-profit started in February 2024 by then-10 year old Nicholas Aidan. Nicholas was troubled by the condition of the graves of many veterans and believed that he could fix that problem. With the support of his family and volunteers, WRRF now cares for the graves of more than 600 veterans in 13 cemeteries all over Texas.
