If you listen closely enough on Mercer Street, you’ll hear the creative pulse of Dripping Springs. It lives in the seven star sculptures along the main stretch and in fifteen more stars scattered throughout our parks and local businesses, in handmade treasures at local art markets, and unexpected gallery spaces.

But more than anywhere else, it lives in the people. That creative pulse is what drives the Dripping Springs Art League (DSAL) - a growing, grassroots community made up of artists, makers, creatives, and neighbors who want to bring beauty and connection to the Hill Country. From watercolorists to woodworkers, photographers to potters, we’re united by a singular vision:

To establish DSAL as a dynamic and flourishing association of artists, galleries, and creative individuals—serving as the connection point for the Dripping Springs art scene, and helping our town grow into a vibrant, inspiring Hill Country Art Destination.

A Community Built on Connection

Since the beginning, DSAL has been rooted in three guiding principles: Art. Community. Connection. And these aren’t just buzzwords. They’re the bedrock of everything we build—inside our group and out in the world.

We believe art has the power to bring people together. Our member-driven model has grown organically to include over 225 individuals, families, and businesses—across every kind of background and creative journey. Some members are professional artists showing work across Texas and beyond. Others are rediscovering a creative spark after years away. Many join just to be around art whether they’re making it, admiring it, or learning something new.

Where Creativity Takes Root

What makes DSAL truly special is how deeply welcoming it is. We invite everyone to take part, no matter their age, ability, or background.

There are more than 20 active, member-led clubs, from drawing and plein air painting to oils, fiber arts, alcohol ink, and our newest addition: a dedicated writer’s club. These spaces offer more than instruction, they offer belonging.

And our reach doesn’t stop with clubs. We host seasonal art markets, public exhibits, hands-on workshops, community art projects, and our “Business of Art” Series presented by Rollo Insurance.

Signature events like Create & Connect gatherings, monthly socials, our Night to Inspire gala, and the beloved West of Weird Art Studio Tour have all become anchor points in Dripping’s creative calendar.

We also partner with local businesses, nonprofits, and the City of Dripping Springs to make sure art isn’t just an event or an afterthought. It’s part of the town’s everyday culture because when creativity is visible, it invites people to slow down, look closer, and connect more deeply with where they live. That’s why you’ll find us leading hands-on workshops at the library for kids, teens, and adults, and partnering with Ledgestone Senior Living for Art Across the Ages, a program that brings generations together through art, story, and shared inspiration.

What’s Next: The Bigger Vision

Looking ahead, our dream is to see Dripping Springs become known as a true Hill Country arts destination, a town where local talent is championed, creativity is part of daily life, and art feels accessible to everyone. To support this vision, our long-term goal is to create a permanent home for DSAL—a space that will house a gallery, classrooms, a community maker-space, art markets, shared studios, and more. We’re still early in that visioning process, but the dream is alive, and the community support is getting stronger every season.

There’s a Place for You Here

DSAL isn’t just for established artists. It’s for anyone who believes in the power of creativity to inspire and bring people together. Whether you want to show your work, try a new medium, volunteer at a market, or simply find good people and conversation, we’d love to meet you. Visit artindripping.com to learn more, see what’s coming up, and become a member. You can also sign up for our free newsletter and stay inspired from home.

Final Brushstrokes

At its best, art isn’t something you just hang on a wall. It’s how we tell our stories, honor our identity, connect generations, and bring meaning into our daily lives. That’s what DSAL is here for. We’re not just an organization—we are a movement rooted in the heart of the Hill Country with open doors, big dreams, and the belief that everyone has a story to tell through art. And our story? We are just getting started!
