Dripping Springs ventured up to Frisco, a hotbed for soccer, and participated in the Dr. Pink tourney. They started off with a big bang the size of the New Year Eve’s fireworks displays. No doubt they are ready for the season and should be a favorite in the district race. They opened with three straight shutout victories before being shutout themselves in the final match.
They opened with McKinney Boyd and a 3-0 whitewash. The second match was with Frisco Lone Star. The result was a 1-0 win. Next was the team from Amarillo. They met the same fate in a 1-0 win by the Lady Tigers. In the final match before returning home they were pitted with Byron Nelson. The result was less than hoped for in the 3-0 loss.
Vs Boyd: With an assist by Carson Thompson, Lily Ruff got the first goal of the season. Kyla Allen nailed the second with an assist by Bailey Stephenson. Stephenson got the third and Thompson got the assist. Goalkeeper Annabelle Pittman got credit for the shutout.
Vs Lone Star: Thompson got the goal and Ruff the assist. Pittman the shutout.
