Family New Year’s Resolution Wall

Families can work together to dream up goals, hopes, and “we-can-do-this!” resolutions for the year ahead. Supplies provided - colorful cards, markers, prompts, and inspiration. Western Wonderland

This year’s event includes an array of festive activities for guests of all ages. At the heart of Western Wonderland is the giant ice-skating rink. Visitors will glide and twirl under the twinkling lights on the largest outdoor ice-skating rink in Central Texas. First Day Hike at Pedernales Falls State Park

The state park has several different hikes happening on January 1. Choose one and start the year off right with your first day hike! In the morning, you can pick the Falls Loop, Madrone-Juniper Ridge Loop, or the Hackenburg Loop. Or join the First Day Fossils hike at 3 p.m. for a guided hike to hunt for prehistoric animals still embedded in the rocks of Pedernales Falls! You’ll learn about the geology of the park and what the park likely looked like millions of years ago. Plus, we’ll show you how to find the oldest fossils in the park.
