Tigers basketball holding strong as district looms

The Tigers played in the South San tourney and came away with a split of the four games. Their first two foes were just a little stronger than the Tigers. They took a loss to SA Wagner 70-64 and Clear Springs 86-48 and then rebounded to take wins over Pflugerville 59-31 and Odessa Permian 71-63. In a regularly scheduled game, the Tigers travelled to Hays Johnson to play what was being called “The Battle of Driftwood.” Coach Acker was disappointed at the Tigers poor shooting performance. He said they were leading by two with one minute to go in the third and then were outscored 22-3 for the 58-41 loss.
