The Dripping Springs Tiger Band officially wrapped up its marching season last weekend with an appearance at the Band of American (BOA) Grand National Championships in Indianapolis, Indiana.

Their show, WALALA: Taking Joy Seriously kept making history at every turn, starting with advancing to the BOA Super Regional Finals in San Antonio. The competition started with 71 bands, and just 14 of those advanced to finals. That earned the band a trip to Lucas Oil Stadium for the BOA Grand National Championships.

In Indianapolis, 108 bands from across the country competed in prelims, and only 36 advanced to Semi Finals. Dripping Springs made that cut for only the second time in history, and their performance earned them a spot in the top 12.

The band performed in the Finals on the evening of Nov. 15, and brought home 9th place, making school history.
