Over the past weekend, sightings of monarch butterflies in the Hill Country increased dramatically as the winged beauties migrate toward their over-wintering sites in Mexico. Both Pedernales Falls State Park and Enchanted Rock State Park reported large numbers of the insects, and many residents in and around Dripping Springs also posted their monarch photos. Mistflower has been an especially popular plant for their feeding and resting activities, as seen here at the Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center.
