Meteor Theatre Art House, located in central Dripping Springs, will open its upcoming production of Steel Magnolias this Friday, Oct. 17. It will run through Nov. 8.
Written by Robert Harling, Steel Magnolias is a heartwarming and hilarious story about the bonds of friendship among a group of women in a small Louisiana town. Set in Truvy’s Beauty Salon, the play follows the ladies as they share life’s joys and sorrows with wit, humor, and unwavering support. This classic tale explores themes of strength, resilience, and the enduring power of female friendship.
Cast members are as follows: Truvy is played by Holly Tiberi-Monti, Ouiser by Bonnie Rosario, Clairee by Audra Wohlers, Shelby by Darby Wirt, M’Lynn by Shannon Brandt, and Annelle by Melissa Beaudin-Vandolder.
Meteor Theatre was founded in 2017 with the mission of providing quality artistic experiences for all. The organization has a dual focus on increasing access to educational theatre for local children and youth, and creating a community theatre for all in Dripping Springs. It includes an outdoor stage beneath the oaks and an indoor rehearsal studio.
