The Science Mill in Johnson City opened a new limited time experience, “STEM in the Wild,” on Saturday, Oct. 11.
Visitors can explore the world of biomimicry, where nature’s unique adaptations inspire real world solutions to human challenges. The exhibit shows how engineers have used those ideas to create new technology that solves everyday problems.
Highlights include some of the most interesting animal features:
• interactive “snakes” to illustrate how fangs deliver venom, and the medical repercussions
• model of retractable “cat claws” showing how they work
• 3-D printed brains and matching skulls of various animals
This is a limited-time exhibit held through December 31.
The Science Mill is located at 101 South Lady Bird Lane, Johnson City TX. All general activities come with General Admission. For updated daily activity schedules, fees, and hours, visit www.sciencemill.org
