The city council approved the Fiscal Year 2025-2026 operating budget for the City of Dripping Springs at its meeting on Sept. 16. The budget includes a total of $30,339,556.93 in expenses.
As part of the budget process, the council also adopted a tax rate of $0.2267 per $100 of valuation. This rate not only funds the city’s daily maintenance and operations but also supports debt issued to fund several major projects, including the Old Fitzhugh Road improvements, Stephenson Building rehabilitation, and downtown parking construction.
The budget includes investments in projects and programs for the community, including: Transportation: In addition to the Old Fitzhugh Road project, more than $3.6 million has been allocated for roadway maintenance, repair, and construction. Parks: Approximately $500,000 has been budgeted for park improvements, including facility repairs and upgrades at Founders Memorial Park and Sports & Recreation Park, as well as new interconnectivity between parks. An additional $738,000 has been allocated for maintenance to the Dripping Springs Ranch Park roof, HVAC system, and lighting.
The city continues to maintain reserves that are intended to manage economic uncertainties now and in the future. To view the approved budget in its entirety, please visit the City’s website at www.cityofdrippingsprings. com.
