Dripping Springs Elite Real Estate Professionals donated $1,000 to Foster Village, a nonprofit organization dedicated to equipping caregivers, connecting families, and advocating for children impacted by the foster care system.

Chrystal Smith, founder and CEO, and KC Richardson, Community Engagement Coordinator, of Foster Village accepted the contribution on behalf of the organization.

“Children need more than a system; they need a village,” Smith said. “Most caregivers foster for less than a year because of burnout and lack of support, yet so many people in the community want to help. This donation helps us bridge that gap and remind families they are not alone.”

The donation is part of DS Elite’s ongoing commitment to charitable giving and supporting the local community.

”One of the core pillars of our group is collaboration. It is in that spirit that we reach out to groups in Dripping Springs who in turn, have made it their mission to lift up our community,” Kristen Rummel, DS Elite Charitable Giving Committee Chair, said. “Foster Village does just that for our most vulnerable community members, and we are proud to support their mission!”

Foster Village, founded in Dripping Springs in 2016, provides practical resources and holistic care through three core pillars: Equipping Caregivers With Support – Offering clothing, new beds, car seats, toiletries, and other essentials at no cost in a trauma-informed, home-like environment.

Connecting Families to Each Other – Building networks of encouragement and solidarity among foster families who share unique challenges and experiences.

Advocating for Community Beyond the System – Elevating the voices of those impacted by foster care and working toward a supportive community where every child and family can thrive.
