Knights to hold charity golf tournament

The St. Martin de Porres Knights of Columbus Council 11695 will hold their annual Hill Country Golf Shootout golf tournament on Saturday, Sept. 27, at Vaaler Creek Golf Club in Blanco, Texas. Team entries are $680, and individual entries are $170. Registration for the tournament closes Sept. 23.

Fundraiser proceeds will be divided between the Knights’ ongoing direct support of charitable activities in the Dripping Springs community, and the building capital campaign for St. Martin de Porres Catholic Parish, which is constructing a 1,000-seat sanctuary building on its campus at 230 Post Oak Drive in Dripping Springs. The new sanctuary’s aim is to meet the growing needs of the Catholic community in North Hays County.

Tourney sponsorship opportunities are available for at various levels, and for different items, including hosting veterans from the Center for the Intrepid- Brook Army Medical Center which provides rehabilitation for Operation Iraqi Freedom/Operation Enduring Freedom casualties who have sustained amputation, burns, or functional limb loss.

The four-player team scramble format will have an 8:30 a.m. shotgun start. Check in begins at 6:45 a.m., with the driving range opening and breakfast being served at 7 a.m. Lunch will be served at approximately 1 p.m., followed by an awards ceremony, Super Door Prize drawing, Poker game, and auction.
