Community members and Dripping Springs ISD officials gathered to celebrate the opening of Wildwood Springs, the district’s sixth elementary school, at a special ribbon cutting ceremony on Sept. 9.
Principal Steve Novickas welcomed the crowd and thanked the teachers and staff who are working to make the school a welcoming place for students and families.
“Wildwood Springs is more than a new school,” Novickas said. “It’s a promise to every child who walks through these doors that they will be respected, seen, and valued. A promise to our families that Wildwood Springs Elementary School will be a place that will nurture confidence and curiosity. A promise to our community that we will work every single day to build lifelong learners who carry the Wildwood Springs spirit with them wherever they go.”
Novickas then invited DSISD school board president, Dr. Stefani Reinold to share a few words.
“On behalf of the board of trustees, it’s a joy to be here with you today to celebrate Wildwood Springs Elementary,” Reinold said. “We are deeply grateful to our community for supporting the 2023 bond, which transformed a shared goal into something truly remarkable.”
Reinold said the new campus combines innovative facilities, technology and resources with a welcoming student centered environment.
“Thank you for believing in our students, our educators, and the future at Dripping Springs Independent School District,” Reinold said. “We can’t wait to see the amazing things that will happen here.”
