Team tennis underway at Dripping Springs HS

The Dripping Springs team tennis season has begun. Like most outdoor sports, the weather dictates the schedule. The Tigers had a big match with Lake Travis that was postponed due to wet weather. They were able to get in their scheduled match with Hays Johnson. In team tennis there are 19 scheduled matches between singles, doubles and mixed doubles. The first team to get 10 victories is declared the winner and the competition is over. In practice games before district, it is not unusual to have many more games so the players get a chance to show their skills in competition and all matches are completed. With Johnson, the Tigers dominated 14-5. Here are the individual results: Boys Doubles: Isaiah Jackson/Arjun Lyer 87(7-2); Gray Pickens/Sebastian Zenioun 8-6; Gram Bendall/Steven Allen 6-8; Landon Kyle/Chase Solberg 85.

Girls Doubles: Addison Clark/Vivian Kelly 8-5; Maggie Menard/Isadora Bernhard 8-2; Olivia Eggleston/Kate Solin 8-6; Maddie Johnson/Campbell Owenson 8-3; Mixed Doubles: Dayton Daniel/Kelsey Lamberth8-3; Jonah Manikam/Sophia Nelson 6-8.
