Dripping Springs Elite Real Estate Professionals presented a $1,000 donation to Dripping Springs Hometown Missions at its July membership meeting as part of the organization’s quarterly charitable giving initiative.

Each quarter, DS Elite selects a local nonprofit or charitable organization to support financially - and often, physically through volunteer service. Hometown Missions, a faith-based nonprofit dedicated to providing safe, stable housing for families in need, was the most recent recipient of both a monetary donation and hands-on help from DS Elite members and advertisers.

Carlisle Kennedy, DS Elite Board Secretary, presented the check to Chris Kelker-Newlan, Operations Manager for Hometown Missions.

Kelker-Newlan shared updates on the nonprofit’s latest completed “Home in a Month” projects, which included two replacement homes and one new construction home.

“We could not do what we do without the financial and physical support from organizations like yours,” said Kelker-Newlan. “It’s been a busy year so far, and we’re lining out the fall and looking for other families we can serve. It’s really about looking out for each other - our neighbors. Many of the families we work with are essential workers in our community. They work in our schools, our stores and shops, clean our homes, and provide essential services. You are a big part of that and can help us identify families in need.”

Kim Burke, Vice President of DS Elite and Board Liaison to the Community/Nonprofi t Committee, said it’s not just about writing a check.

“Giving back to our local community is at the heart of what we do,” Burke said. “Our members are more than real estate professionals - they are community leaders who care deeply about where we live and who we serve.”

Dripping Springs Hometown Missions continues to mobilize volunteers, churches and businesses to transform lives through housing solutions that reflect faith, action, and love.
