Veteran coach picked to lead girls track team

Dripping Springs High School has announced the promotion of Bill Greene to Head Girls Track Coach at Dripping Springs High School.

With over 27 years of coaching experience, Greene returned to Dripping Springs ISD in the fall of 2024 as an assistant coach for track and field and football. He previously spent 10 years at Canyon Lake High School, including three years as the head coach of the Hawks' track and field program.

From 2008 to 2014, Greene served as the head coach of the Dripping Springs boys track and field team. During his first stint with the Tigers, he led the program to its first district title in 35 years with championships in 2009, 2010 and 2014.

Greene’s first high school head coaching role was at Connally High School in Pflugerville, where he led the track team for six years.

He holds a Bachelor of Science in Political Science from Texas A&M University and is a certified teacher in Social Studies and Physical Education.
