DSISD summer camp registration underway

The last day of school is just one week away for Dripping Springs students, but DSISD has tons of summer camp offerings for families looking for fun activities.

Most weeks in June and July have more than 25 different options to choose from. Camp categories include Arts and Crafts, Brain Builders, Fun Stuff, Performing Arts and Sports.

Unless otherwise specified, camps are Monday - Thursday. There are half day options and full day options. Most camps are held at DSISD schools. Fees vary by camp, depending on staff and materials required.

Classes fill up quickly, so organizers recommend signing up as early as possible. Registration closes on the Monday prior to the beginning of each camp.

While the majority of camps are geared towards elementary aged children, there are a few for pre-school kids, as well as for secondary students in grades 6-12.

In the category of Arts and Crafts, students can take classes in clay, fiber arts, painting, drawing and mixed media. In Brain Builders, there are camps for robotics, chess, programming, science, and even languages like Spanish and Mandarin. In Fun Stuff, there are classes for cooking, music and fishing, to name a few.

The Performing Arts track includes theater and dance, as well as a piano keyboard class. And finally, the Sports category has everything from baseball, volleyball and basketball to pickleball, golf and wrestling.
