Two juniors from the Dripping Springs High School DECA program, Bella Rose and Jack McClure, earned top-10 finishes at the International Career Development Conference held last week in Orlando, Florida.
Rose placed second in the Restaurant & Food Service Management Series while Mc-Clure was a sixth-place finisher in School Based Enterprise Food Service. Making their second trip to the international competition, Rose and McClure competed against students from all 50 states as well as representatives from Canada, Mexico, China, Puerto Rico and more.
Dripping Springs was also represented by international qualifiers freshman Faith Hyde (Principles of Hospitality & Tourism) and junior Audrey Ward (Human Resources Management Series) in Florida.
The International Career Development Conference concluded another successful year for the DSHS DECA program. In addition to the four international qualifiers, Dripping Springs finished the year with 24 state qualifiers and five state finalists.
DECA prepares emerging leaders and entrepreneurs in marketing, finance, hospitality and management in high schools and colleges around the globe.
