Isabel “Izzy” Crew, a freshman wheelchair competitor from Dripping Springs took the state track meet by storm. She would take home a gold medal and two silver along with the title “UIL Athlete Of The Meet”. She became a state champion in the 400 with a time of 1.05.51. Her silvers came in the 100 (18.20) and shot put (18'3.25).
Adeline Spies, a pole vaulter, was unable to make the opening height. The state meet standards are to start at a higher height than general meets to get those events over quicker and therefore vaulters are unable to warm up to and get in the groove to make those best heights. She holds the school record of 12'6 and is a junior with one more year to improve on that.
