The Lady Tigers softball team took on Round Rock Stony Point in the Bi-district round of the playoffs and came away extremely successful to push them to the next step in the playoffs. Stony Point was expected to be a strong opponent. Instead, the Lady Tigers demonstrated how they were going to be a team that could go deep into the playoffs. They took the best of three in two, 10-0 and 4-0. Prior to the series, Dripping Springs played a practice game with Hays Johnson and took it on the chin 10-0.

The Lady Tigers have appeared to jump from the frying pan into the fire as they take on SA O'Connor in the Area game. They had two one-sided wins and own a 21-2 season record. However, what one does not know is what was the caliber of the competition in their district (16-0) and others.

Hays scored five runs in each of the first two innings and the game was still played for the regulation seven for the practice. The Lady Tigers were outhit 11-3. Getting those three hits were Lauren Byrnes, Tatum Green and Jai-Lynn Flores. On the pitching side Addy Knapp failed to get an out in the second, giving up 4H, 7R, 7ER, 4W, 0K. Green stepped in for two, giving up 6H, 3R, 3ER, 0W, 2K. Sadie Bradford completed the last two, giving up 1H, 1W, 1K.

The opener with Stony Point only lasted five innings under the 10-run rule. DS got off to a great start when they scored five in the second and just added to it (1-3-1) in the next three. DS collected 9 hits while Bradford held SP hitless walking four and striking out five. Getting the hits were Green 3(2B), Emma Phillips 2, Bradford 2B, Flores 2B, Byrnes and Taylor Crain.

The next day, the game was decided in the third. All four runs came in the third and it was left up to Green to shut SP out for the complete game. She gave up 5 hits, struck out one and walked none. Bradford led the offensive game as she collected 2 (2B), 1R, 1RBI. Flores had 2RBI's with her one hit. Elianna Amato and Crain got the other two hits.
