After losing to Austin Bowie in the second game, the Lady Tigers have steadily gotten stronger and now are the district champions. With one game left at Westlake, DS has a 10-1 district record and a 21-6-1 season record. Their bi-district opponent will not be a pushover. The top two teams in 25-6A will be in Div II. Cedar Ridge 14-0 and Stony Point 122. Dripping Springs will open with Stony Point. In their last three games, the Lady Tigers repelled Lake Travis 5-2, Del Valle 8-3 and a practice game with Pflugerville Weiss 10-0. DS will complete their regular season at Westlake tonight.
Vs LT: This game has been tough both times. This time LT took the early lead with two in the second. DS got one back in the third but it was the four-run fifth that clinched district. The Lady Tigers outhit LT 10-6. Getting those hits were Emma Phillips 2, Tatum Green 2 (2B), Lauren Byrnes, McKenna Riley, Gianna Hauser, Lillian Wearden, Lorelei Gamble 2B, Jai-Lynn Flores. The winning pitcher in relief was Sadie Bradford 3.1I, 1H, 2K. Starter Green 3.2I, 5H, 2R, 2W, 2K. Vs DV: A good start with eight runs in the first three innings. DV outhit DS 8-7. It is great timing to see Jai-Lynn Flores hitting her stride with two HR's. Bradford 2B, Elianna Amato, Taylor Crain, Hauser and Rachel Key. Bradford pitched the complete game giving up 8H, 3R, 2ER, 2W, 4K.
Vs Weiss: It was another great start as the Lady Tigers scored their ten runs in the first three innings of the five-inning game. Both teams garnered five hits. Phillips had two hits, M. Riley, Wearden and Green got the others. Addy Knapp got the win allowing 5H, 1W and 1K.
