Paige Frontera, a teacher and coach at Dripping Springs Middle School, was recently awarded the Middle School Teacher of the Year award from Dripping Springs’ VFW Post 2933.

Frontera, as the local winner, went on to compete with teachers from 13 other VFW Posts located in Hays, Comal, Gonzales and Guadalupe Counties for the district award. She then won the VFW District #5 Award for Teacher of the Year, receiving a certificate, a plaque and a $200 check.

The award was presented to Frontera at DSMS on Monday, May 22 by VFW Post 2933 members Charlie Busbey and Gary Hale.

“Congratulations to her for being a great teacher,” Hale said.

Frontera teaches Texas and American History at Dripping Springs Middle School and is the team leader for that department. She has over 20 years of experience in education, almost all of those years spent at DSMS. Frontera earned a bachelor's degree from the University of Texas at Austin with a double major in government and history.
