Wrestling teams snag second in district

The Dripping Springs High School swim team under the guidance of Michael Hoskovec had an amazing 94% of its participants reach personal goals at the District 26-6A meet held at Round Rock. This is the major reason the girls finished second and the boys fifth in a strong district. Eight places add to the score total with the top six places advancing to Regional. (*) Set school record.
Dripping Springs High School hosted former Class A Central division rival Austin High School last Thursday night, Feb. 8, in their home opener.
Dripping Springs High School varsity boys lacrosse opened their Spring season with a road win against Boerne High School on Saturday, Feb. 3. This is the 11th consecutive year Head Coach Bill Cafferata’s team has won their season opener.
The Tigers basketball team has stumped their toe with four straight losses to give them a 5-7 record. With four games left, they find themselves two games down to Bowie for fourth place. They began the week with a tough 74-68 loss to Hays’ Johnson High School, but the killer was the 53-52 loss to Austin’s Akins High School.
