Shockers pull away in Tuesday Adult Softball
The Tuesday night men’s softball league has reached the halfway mark in the summer season and getting ready for the charge to the end. The Shockers are starting to pull away and leave the rest to battle it out for second. On this night, some of the usually reliable hitting teams appeared to have forgotten their bats and in some case, their gloves as well as four teams collected less than ten hits. Those things happen from time to time in slowpitch.
League standings: DS Electric Shockers 9-0; DS Rentals Conglomerates 7-2; Misfits 6-3; Sunset Canyon Baptist 5-4; UnWanted 3-6; Baptist Bombers 3-6; Hill Country Bible Church 2-7; Chronic Offenders 1-8.
Scores: The Shockers remained undefeated in a couple of run-rule wins. First it was a shutout 11-0 win over Baptist Bombers, culminated with a 13-3 victory over the Misfits. The Bombers hitting woes continued as, plus five errors allowed the Conglomerates to get away with a 12-2 win. The Misfits had an uncharacteristic light-hitting night and Sunset Canyon Baptist took the opportunity to ease past them with a 7-2 victory. The Hill Country Bible Church team found themselves in a hole early but a late-inning surge gave them a 9-7 win. The momentum gained by HCBC did not last as UnWanted finally found their bats and used them for a 13-9 advantage.
